PRESENTED WORK
TOKYO MAIGO, QUÉBEC, 1997
Outside his work for The seven branches of the river
Ota, filmic work adapted from stage designer Robert
Lepage’s play (1997), Francis Leclerc obtained impressionist
pictures of the Japanese metropolis with dominating night
vision and realized TOKYO MAIGO.
By means of a game views and to panoramic jerky plans, Tokyo
is transformed into a futuristic city. A voice out of the
field anchors the furtive and fleeting pictures into a narrative
which poetically underlines the city itself.
