INTERNATIONAL SECRETARIAT OF WATER
(www.i-s-w.org)
Born of the will of a group of experienced practitioners of all
sectors of international cooperation, the ISW is an international,
non governmental organisation whose mandate is the application of
the four principles stated in the Montreal Charter on Drinking Water
and Sanitation adopted in June 1990: Benoît Mailloux will
present us the report of the World Youth Parliament for Water in
2002 by posters and documentation realised by young people who have
participated to the event. Within the context of a structured democratic
debate (presentations, discussions, debates, votes, etc) the initiative
gave young people from all regions of the world the opportunity
to create a water law and to debate the following 4 themes:
- Access to water and sanitation as a fundamental human right
- Sustainability parameters: in particular, the cost of water services
- Local and national water governance
- International solidarity in water management issues
The documents of The ISW will be at the disposal to the public during
all the event and Benoît Mailloux will be present on Sunday.
