The Vertex Collective and l'Hôte Maison will create a sound installation for the event

The youth centre l'Hôte Maison is a gathering and exploration space for youth aged between 12 and 17 years who live in the Rosemont-Petite Patrie borough. It is also a space where they can create projects and participate in structured events. This offers them the possibility to improve their knowledge in various fields, including sound. After having already put together a sound project called Les Jardiniers du Son, the collaboration with the Vertex Collective is an activity that serves the continuing education of our youth and provides a unique occasion for them to learn the rudiments of electroacoustics. The results of the activities will be published on www.journalreplik.com

Nicolas Basque and Andrew Watson of the Vertex Collective have taken up residence for two months in the Rosemont-Petite Patrie neighborhood. In association with the youth of the Hôte Maison they will create an insitu work dedicated to the history of the incinerator. Through this artistic experience the young participants will learn how to make sound recordings, to treat the sound using a computer and, during the event, on Sunday September 26, they will have the opportunity to create a live sound ambiance for the audience by transmitting sound in the space.

In the frame of les “Journées de la culture”a free  workshop with the collective Vertex will be organized for all on September 24, 25 and 26 at 3 PM. Come and learn about the nature of sound and how it travels as you walk through the sound installation.
